Rooted in Curiosity: Meet Kate
Curiosity has shaped nearly every chapter of my life.
I’ve always been someone who asks herself questions and then quietly disappears down a research rabbit hole looking for the answers. Long before I understood concepts like information literacy or digital librarianship, I was drawn to the process of exploring, learning, and making sense of the world around me.
That curiosity eventually grew into a career centered around information, research, and helping people navigate an increasingly complex digital world.
Today, my work lives at the intersection of digital librarianship, information literacy, research, and public education. I’m especially interested in how people find, evaluate, organize, and interact with information, both online and offline.
As a Digital Librarian at LUNASHARK Media, I help organize and maintain searchable digital collections connected to investigative journalism and true crime reporting. My work includes managing archives, organizing case materials, developing educational resources, and creating systems that make complex information more accessible and easier to navigate.
I earned my Master’s in Library & Information Science from Syracuse University School of Information Studies, where I explored topics including digital libraries, accessibility, knowledge organization, and information literacy.
Beyond librarianship, I’m deeply interested in media literacy, digital trust, curiosity-driven learning, and the evolving relationship between people and information. In a world overflowing with content, algorithms, and constant noise, I believe curiosity is one of the most valuable skills we can cultivate.
Whether I’m organizing information systems, creating educational content, or disappearing into an unexpected research spiral, my goal is always the same: to help make information feel more approachable, meaningful, and empowering.

Let's keep the story going! Every good library needs a few new chapters, and every good network needs a librarian.
Fun Facts about Kate
I treat bookstores, libraries, and office supply stores with the same level of excitement most people reserve for concerts or sporting events.
I’m a chronic rewatcher of TV shows and movies. Rewatching something familiar feels like putting on a comfy sweatshirt.
Every personality quiz eventually confirms the same thing: I absolutely belong in Hufflepuff.
I’m happiest near water. Lakes, oceans, rainy days… something about water makes my brain slow down.
My toddler has taught me that “why?” is both a phase of childhood and a surprisingly effective research strategy.
